Clevoro (“Clevoro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and journal about web development. This policy applies to information we collect through the site, your account, and our email communications. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@clevoro.com.

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, a display name, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

• Cookies and identifiers. Cookies and similar technologies used for authentication, analytics, and advertising (see Cookies & tracking).

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the site and its features.
• Send you the newsletter and service-related messages (see Email communications below).
• Measure and understand how the site is used through analytics.
• Display and measure advertising.
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We collect your email address primarily to authenticate your account. We also use it to send you our newsletter and updates about Clevoro.

Today: when you sign up, you may be enrolled in the Clevoro newsletter. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time without affecting your account or your ability to sign in.

In the future: once our newsletter service launches, existing account holders may be automatically enrolled. If we do this, we will notify you and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time. After that launch, new users will be given an explicit choice to opt in or out of the newsletter during sign-up. We will always honor your most recent preference.

Service and security messages (for example, password resets or important changes to your account) are not marketing and cannot be unsubscribed from while you have an active account.

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: essential functionality (such as keeping you signed in), analytics, and advertising. Essential cookies are required for the site to work. Analytics and advertising technologies are described below.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

We rely on trusted third parties to run Clevoro. These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies:

• Google (Analytics and Ads) — analytics and advertising.
• Vercel — hosting and platform analytics.
• Neon — database hosting for account and content data.
• Sanity — content management for articles and media.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the service, comply with the law, or protect our rights.

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the respective provider’s retention settings. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any newsletter email.
• Opt out of analytics and personalized advertising using the tools linked above.
• Request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@clevoro.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including password hashing and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Clevoro is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
